Exclusive Experiences 2026
Information & Pricing
I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind starts waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. – Wendell Berry
A Greeting from the Stewards of the Land
Hello there!
I am Ian Rowan, current steward of Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge. We call this forest and river home, and we welcome the opportunity to share this sacred land with you for your special event.
TCWL hosts purposeful gatherings, ranging from yoga, breathwork, meditation, spiritual ceremonies, healing workshops, foraging experiences – executive offsites and summits, weddings, celebrations of life, spiritual sojourns and seasonal festivals. All of these gatherings imbue the land with a patina of their unique vibrancies and synchronicities. Many people share that they feel a vortex that transcends time here, that they are able to experience a deep sense of connection to nature, and come away renewed and recentered.
The Gathering and Sleeping Spaces have all been designed by Ian’s architect father, William Rowan, constructed with wood milled from this forest, and built over years with the labor of family, friends, and volunteers. In this way, TCWL is a communal manifestation that has evolved over generations.
This 200 acres has been stewarded by the Davies/Rowan family since the early 20th century. Thanks to the efforts of Ian and William, the land is now protected by a conservation easement, so the old growth ecosystem will remain intact in perpetuity. Before colonization, this land was the ancestral home of the Molalla indigenous peoples, now members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde. The Molalla, meaning “people of the berries,” gathered here and called this land home since time immemorial.
As we walk these trails, and gather salal, huckleberry, blackberry, and thimbleberry, as we submerge ourselves in the cyan, turquoise and azure hues of the Molalla River and Trout Creek, swimming with salmon below and eagles and blue herons above, we carry the conversation forward about how we can be allies in the healing of Earth and ourselves – personally, culturally, collectively. We remember our place in the peace of wild things.
We are excited to explore the possibility of holding space here at TCWL for your special event. Let’s see how the stars align.
Making dreams manifest,
Ian Rowan

Forest Wedding of our Dreams
Our wedding weekend at Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge was truly magical. My husband (!) and I felt very supported by Ian and the volunteer crew. Ian was very supportive of our vision and generous throughout the process; bringing the forest wedding of our dreams to life. If your connection to nature and Earth is an important pillar of your relationship, TCWL is an incredibly beautiful and special place to be married, surrounded by forest, creatures, and flowing water. We loved that most of our guests stayed on-site with us, making the weekend filled with special connection and friendship. All of our vendors were truly in awe of the beauty and authentic feel of the forest, the lodge, and Trout Creek as a whole. I am so happy that we got married at such a special place, and had the most beautiful experience to share with our loved ones!

Frequently Asked Questions
ADA accessibility?
Yes, we have a moveable ADA ramp for access to the lodge, cabins 1&2, Jupes, the Bath House & the River Deck. We try to keep the land as untouched as possible, therefore most of our paths and roads are unpaved. The path to the River Deck has a 30% grade decline, so wheelchairs are recommended to have two able-bodied people helping.
How many people can your Venue hold?
Trout Creek Wilderness lodge is a perfect place for intimate gatherings. With the tables and benches available to you, we have an accommodations capacity of 20 people in the winter and 105 people in the summer before BYO Tent Camping and RV Sites. Seating capacity at 75-200 people on the River Deck and The Grove, which is a great size for our venue! Larger weddings can be made possible with additional rental items from you.
What are the rules on Alcohol?
You are allowed to serve all alcohol types, as long as they are not for sale.
Is there a Noise Ordinance?
No noise ordinance! We ask that you keep in mind that our staff and our family live on the land.
What Decor do you have available?
Almost all decor must come from you. We have a beautiful wooden Arch that can be moved around on the river deck as your ceremony piece (as seen in photos above). Check out our Additional Rental Items for vase rentals.
Where do RV guests park?
Our two largest spots with water, electric and sewage hook-up are located in the main parking lot, about a 2 minute walk from the lodge. The other spots have water and electric hookup; one in front of the lodge, one adjacent to the bathhouse, and one in the Main Cabin driveway near the Caretakers Cottage (refer to the map for RV locations). Please refer to the Recreational Vehicle Areas page here for more information.
